Ryan Avery, World Champion of Public Speaking and Colorado State University Alumnus (Class of ’09), will sell and sign 5,000 books of his book, SPEAKER, LEADER, CHAMPION: Succeed at Work Through the Power of Public Speaking, at the CSU bookstore in an attempt to set a Guinness World Record Title for “Largest Book Signing in History.”  The World Record event will also raise money for the CSU Alumni Association.

There are several ways of participating in this history-making event [more details below]:

  • Only orders on April 16, 2014 through www.CSUworldrecord.com will count toward the record. You can pre-register for the event by signing up at www.CSUworldrecord.com, or buy the book that day onsite or online.
  • Show up on-site from 8:30am – 6:00pm Wednesday April 16, 2014 to purchase a book for $15.95 or order online ($19.95 including shipping).  The book will be signed and shipped your way!

Everyone who participates in the signing will receive a copy of the book, published by McGraw-Hill Professional.  Avery, Winner of the 2012 World Champion of Public Speaking, and at 25, the youngest in history, offers 80+ strategies to become a stronger leader and communicator so you can advance in your professional and personal life.

The current World Records title for most books signed by one author in a single session is 4,649 by Sammy Lee (Hong Kong), who signed his book “Autopilot Leadership Model” in Shenyang, Liaoning, China, January 19, 2013. Avery hopes to bump Lee’s event off the list and simultaneously raise money for the CSU Alumni Association and bring the world record to the CSU community.
